When a British student produced his own version of a Christmas advertisement for retailer John Lewis (release of the real advert is a popular fixture on the calendar here), he probably had no idea it would go viral ... or lead to an actual job offer.
London PR agency W Communications were quick make a pitch to the A-level (sort of like high school) producer, figuring they just might land a new Steven Spielberg, or at least get a little attention for being quick at spotting hot creative talent. A win either way.
The lessons for PR businesses are clear: creative talent can come from anywhere, and speed counts.
And for those looking to break in to agency life: it's never too early to start producing stuff to make your case.
Nicely done, all.
W Communications - PR Week's agency of the year - has reached out to Nick and offered him a full time position - which would make him the youngest employee ever within the company.
