Panelists at the CBI Conference have highlighted the need for greater diversity in industry as a whole.

The PR industry is faced with a number of challenges in the fast changing communications world and there is no doubt that there is a strong case for a more diverse workforce - clients expect a rounded view and their expectations are increasingly that the companies who seek to frame their messages have input from staff that reflect the diverse nature of our society. This isn't just about ethnicity or sexuality, it is also about gender balance and age. By actively seeking to employ those from different backgrounds and encouraging more women to reach the top of the profession, we not only enhance our offering to clients and but in so doing create a better and more balanced workplace. This is not only  good for the bottom line but can be very important in creating a working environment where staff want to remain - - retaining talent being the major concern according to the recent 2016 ICCO World Report.
